This Education & Training wing of WBEIDC Ltd (erstwhile WIL) is one of the very few organisations in Eastern
part of India, imparting IT Education & Training for over two decades. Since 1992, this initiative has trained
around 15000 citizens every year including industry
professionals from its own class rooms, corporate training and
124 franchise locations and 28 College Centres (at present)
spread across the state of West Bengal.

This division offers Diploma and Certificate courses in Software,
Hardware, Networking and Multimedia, besides a host of other
Basic and Advanced IT courses. Special emphasis is also given
while training ongoing College Students to make them ready for
professional placement after graduation.

The Academy at AJC Bose Road, Kolkata is a Cisco Networking Academy and RedHat Training Partner
conducting Global Certification programmes for industry professionals. Every year around 100 professionals
are being trained in these courses since 2002.
Courses being conducted are:
o RedHat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
o RedHat Certified Security Specialist (RHCSS)
o RedHat Storage and RedHat Open Stack
o RedHat Certified System Administrator
o Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
o Cisco Cyber Security Operation

More than 7500 participants from 36 Government Departments have been trained so far in different courses.

An important part is Government Sponsored Skill Development Programs: Imparting training to the
beneficiaries of Government sponsored skill development programs viz. skill development for unemployed
Registered Job seekers in association with Directorate of Employment, Department of Labour since 2007 and
for unemployed youths in some municipality area in association with State Urban Development Authority since
2013.

ICT@School Project: WIL Division is also engaged as a ‘Consultant’ by School Education Department, Govt. of
West Bengal to implement and monitor ICT@School project in 7500+ schools. The School Education
Department has embarked upon providing ICT enabled education environment in the Secondary and Higher
Secondary Schools & has taken up the prestigious task of enabling the schools with ICT enabled environment
in a very short period of time by taking up the scheme for implementation and introduced computer
education in following phases.
