Dear Reader,

Welcome to the 31st edition of Webel’s e–Newsletter.

Since its inception in September 2013, the newsletter has played an important role in covering recent trends and
showcasing some key pertinent developments.

We firmly believe that our state should lead the wave of next set of emerging technologies such as Blockchain, Fintech
and Cybersecurity and we are taking multiple initiatives to achieve this goal. Being the nodal agency of the West Bengal IT
& E Department, for promoting IT and Electronics industries, WBEIDC has emerged as a one-stop support centre for all IT
investors in the state.

In order to match the demand and expectation of the State population and to bring in social changes, particularly in Tier-
II / Tier-III cities, by establishing and developing IT/ITeS industries, the Corporation has been working relentlessly (i) to
create right infrastructure, (ii) to develop quality talent pool by various training and skill building programs, (iii) by IT
Promotion and (iv) by initiating several E-Gov projects in West Bengal. We are looking forward to attract pioneers in the
field of IT & E.

Various initiatives are being taken to establish West Bengal as a hub of new and emerging technologies. With this vision,
the Department of IT & E had actively participated in the sixth edition of Bengal Global Business Summit 2022, which was
held on 20 – 21 April 2022 and also participated in the five-day Bengal Global Trade Expo 2022 (BGTE) from 20 – 24 April
2022, at Science City Mela Ground, Kolkata. The theme of IT & E Sectoral Session was “Reimagining IT & ITES and
Electronics Manufacturing Opportunities in West Bengal”.

We would like to express our immense gratitude for the unconditional support extended by our customers, distributers,
business associates, investors, shareholders, stakeholders and well-wishers. We look forward to your continued support
which will culminate in West Bengal building upon its leadership position in Information Technology and Electronics.
