Every crisis is an opportunity. In light of the recent COVID-19 outbreak, and a still-uncertain set of risks, business
leaders worldwide are rightly concerned about how their organizations will be affected and what they have to do
next. One thing that everyone is sure about, the application of Information Technology, usage of remote working
mechanisms and digital communication systems would become more pervasive and we need to be more agile and
responsible in our approach towards using them. This episode is surely going to redesign the economic, social, and
the cultural landscape of many parts of the Globe and we have to be prepared for the same.

In the current situation, electronic governance has become one of the major enablers for our progress. It is one of
the most important outcomes of the development of information technology which influences various approaches
for administration and transforms the relationship between government and citizens by increasing speed, precision,
and accuracy of information processing and offering 24x7 services. Let us all be united and resilient and make sure
we utilize the power of technology to the maximum and come out of this even stronger.

To help the citizens, the Department has launched a 24x7 toll-free helpline for all essential IT Enabled Service/s
clarification and assistance during the ongoing lockdown period. Throughout these trying times, the Department
remains committed to take IT Skill Development initiatives throughout the state by means of virtual platforms and to
encourage local new IT ventures and address needs of the IT industry as means of promoting the industry and
generating employment. Our Department remains focused on promoting IT initiatives, innovation and infrastructure
of the State. Various initiatives are being taken to establish West Bengal as a hub of new and emerging technologies.
Our commitment is to the people of Bengal and we will continue our effort to sustain the growth momentum of our
State.
