He observed the Telecom Policy of India which intends to bring everybody in digital world. There is a national policy
for having public Wi-Fi for all who cannot afford to bring broadband into their home. New Town Rajarhat is the only
city in India which has a joint venture with a Telecom company for a few decades and with this new telecom
infrastructure, ducts have been laid down for data cables or other connections. In the smart city area, New Town, Wi-
Fi is also provided over a 10.5 KM stretch originating from the airport. This was necessary for the City Governance in
New Town Smart City because most of the services are delivered online. Nothing is to be done on paper. The
philosophy is a No-Touch-Local-Body. Nobody has to come to a Govt organisation to get a job done.

He added that in New Town there is a Fintech Hub, Health Hub, Education Hub and an IT Hub called the Bengal Silicon
Valley. Also there is the Eco Park to give the citizens life-work balance. So for the new technology induced era, New
Town is the ideal destination with these 4 hubs present in a certified green city.
