NOTABLE PROJECT : CCTV FOR NIRBHAYA

Women Safety and security at public places is a great concern and topmost priority for any Police
Organization. It has particularly become more important considering increasing participation of women in
various fields and to encourage their participation further.

It becomes particularly important for vibrant cities like Kolkata to make
women and for that matter every citizen feel safe in the city so that
they may aspire to realize their full potential. Hence, Kolkata police
contemplates to set up a comprehensive CCTV surveillance system
with Network Infrastructure and AI powered analytics supported
monitoring system. The project as contemplated shall act as a force
multiplier and shall be useful in prevention, detection, investigation,
monitoring and even emergency responses.

WBEIDC has been awarded with a major role to play in implementation of the prestigious Nirbhaya Project in
following areas:

Establishment & Commissioning of Fibre Optic Network Infrastructure along with design, supply,
installation, testing, commissioning, training and maintenance of 1020 Nos. CCTV Camera to be
installed under the jurisdiction of Kolkata Police.

Supply, Installation, Commissioning & Maintenance of Face Recognition System (FRS) along with 75
cameras. Implementation of High-level security system which is based on Face Recognition for Kolkata
Police with the provision of real time detection using real-time data (live video footage, frames) with
existing database (video file, frames).

Installation of Video Conferencing System for Courts and Correctional Homes for “In Camera” TI Parade
under the Safe City Woman Project (Nirbhaya). Implementation of 48 VC facility at various Correctional
Homes and 85 VC facility at various Courts.

Supply, Installation, Commissioning, Testing & Maintenance of 900 CCTV Cameras to be installed at
different Police Housing Estate (PHE), Battalions & Petrol Pumps within the jurisdiction of Kolkata
Police.
