Dear Reader,

We, at WBEIDC, are looking forward to thrive in the new normal post the pandemic era through exploring new
methods and practices by emphasizing on innovating our products and services.

In order to spread the idea of innovation and ideation, we are committed to create platforms of idea
generation focusing on emerging technologies. To foster implementation of emerging technologies in the
State, WBEIDC has taken several initiatives. Recently, on 10 March 2021, a Webinar was conducted on
Leveraging Additive Manufacturing & IoT in Manufacturing Industry, in which, the roadmap of
revolutionizing the manufacturing sector through usage of sensor based technologies were deliberated and
discussed in detail by eminent industry and Government stakeholders.

Even under the present scenario, West Bengal Electronics Industry Development Corporation is continuously
striving to remain focused on facilitating information technology investments, creating an innovation
ecosystem, building relevant skillsets among our talented citizens and leveraging IT for holistic development of
the state. Recently, Virtual Inauguration of BN4 IT Park, BN9 IT Park, Kalyani IT Park (Ph-II) & Rajarhat IT Park
(Ph-II) is done by Hon'ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on 15.02.2021.

Digital skills are now of paramount importance for employment, not only in the IT/ITeS sector but also for
many other service sectors. In order to impart skill in such cutting edge technologies, the Centre of Excellence
with Japanese tech major Fujisoft and partners has already started functioning from 2020/21 offering
Certificate Courses in Data Science, Embedded Technology / IoT, catering to large number of students despite
pandemic and is providing education and training on machine learning, cyber-security, 3D printing, robotics
process automation etc.to catalyse innovation.

The restructuring of verticals, after the amalgamation of the 5 erstwhile subsidiaries is also on the verge of
finalization, to be placed before the board. This would be a historical leap forward in the history of the
Company, towards creating digital footprints in the Indian markets with creation of consolidated verticals like
Business, R&D, Manufacturing, Emerging Technologies etc.

Webel Education is also attaining shape with its extended outreach across the State and slated to emerge as
the core of IT education in the State of West Bengal, aiming to streamline designs of IT curriculums in the
Schools and Colleges and enhancing awareness and knowledge about emerging technologies in the younger
minds.
