Shri Bratya Basu, Hon’ble Minister-in-Charge, Department
of Information Technology & Electronics, Govt. of West
Bengal arrived to the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre.
Shri Suvayu Ray, Project Director, PMU team from
PricewaterhouseCoopers Pvt. Ltd welcomed all the
esteemed dignitaries on the dais. Shri Debashis Sen, IAS,
Addl. Chief Secretary, DITE, Govt of West Bengal
felicitated Shri Bratya Basu in traditional manner with
presentation of an Uttariyo.

The session started with an award ceremony. SKOCH Smart Governance Award is an initiative towards recognizing top
performing Government Organizations, operating at local, state and national level. Since 2003, when these were
instituted, the SKOCH Awards have become the independent benchmark of best practices in India in the field of
governance and inclusive growth. These salute projects and institutions that go the extra mile to make India a better
nation. 5 projects under the Department of IT and Electronics, Govt of West Bengal have won 7 SKOCH awards in 2018.

Shri Suvayu Ray invited Shri Sanjay Kumar Das, Dy.
Secretary, DITE to come upon stage and present the
SKOCH Gold Award 2018 with Shri Bratya Basu, Hon’ble
Minister in Charge, DITE for the Digital Archive of Bengali
Literature. This award was declared by SKOCH e-
rd
Governance on 23 June 2018. Through this, classic
Bengali literature have been made widely accessible
across the globe.

Shri Aninda Chatterjee, Managing Director of WBEIDC
came on stage and presented the SKOCH Order-of-Merit
Award 2018 with Shri Debashis Sen, IAS, Addl. Chief
Secretary, DITE for the Cyber Security Centre of
Excellence. This award was declared by the SKOCH e-

Governance on 23 June 2018. The Cyber Security Centre
of Excellence endeavours to ensure cyber safe Bengal by
preventive and corrective measures. Cyber Security
Centre of Excellence is right now in operation.
