Mr. Ajoyendra Mukherjee is a dynamic Business Leader with over 40 years of rich experience in IT industry. He holds a bachelor's degree in Electrical & Electronics engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani. He joined Tata Consultancy Services Limited (TCS), a leading global IT services, consulting and business solutions organization, immediately after his graduation from BITS in 1980.

During his almost four decades of association with TCS, Mr. Mukherjee has worked in diverse roles and on a variety of technical platforms. He has played a key role in several landmark projects for TCS customers world-wide as a developer, designer, architect, project leader and program manager.

He held various leadership positions such as the center head of business operations in Eastern India, geography head of Middle East and Africa, Switzerland, global head of energy and utilities practice, global head of CSR function, and global head of human resources.

He took over as the Global Head of Human Resources for TCS in 2008 and played a key role in scaling up TCS to over 400,000 professionals spread across 50 countries. He focused on building a skilled, motivated and culturally-diverse global workforce that continuously learnt and stayed relevant during multiple technology change cycles. During his tenure, TCS had the best Employee Retention rates in the Industry and received many HR accolades & awards including the recognition as Top Employer globally for four consecutive years.

In addition to his HR responsibility, he was head of TCS CSR function and was responsible for Global Strategy, Planning and Execution of key CSR engagements. TCS earned a place in the Global Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) for five consecutive years during his tenure.

He superannuated from TCS as Executive Vice President & Global Head of Human Resources in April, 2019 and now lives in Kolkata. He serves as a Director on the Boards of a few reputed organizations in India.
