TiECON Kolkata Rising

TiECON is a large Entrepreneurship Summit in Eastern India with knowledge-sharing panel discussions on thought-
provoking topics, hot pitch of emerging start-ups, investors’ experiences, and award distribution ceremony.

The organiser TiE was founded in 1992 in Silicon Valley by a group of successful entrepreneurs, corporate executives,
& senior professionals. Over the last 25 years of existence TiE Chapters around the world has become a vibrant
platform for entrepreneurs, professionals, industry leaders, investors to interact with one another & forge long
lasting relationships.

TiECON Kolkata Rising – a two day event – washeld at Hotel Hyatt Regency, Salt Lake City, Kolkata on 16-17 January
2020. The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Amit Mitra, Hon'ble Minister of Finance, Industry Commerce &
Enterprises, Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises & Textiles and IT & Electronics Dept, Govt of WB, Shri Rajeev Kumar
(IPS), Principal Secretary to the Dept of IT & Electronics, Govt of West Bengal, Shri Debashis Sen, IAS, (Former
Additional Chief Secretary to the Dept of IT & Electronics),Govt of West Bengal and other dignitaries from the
Industry.

In his address, Dr. Amit Mitra, Hon’ble Minister noted the
vision of Hon’ble Chief Minister Smt Mamata Banerjee is
to take IT to Tier-II and Tier-III cities of West Bengal and
17 IT Parks are built across the state outside Kolkata for
spreading IT beyond the city.
